ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund has announced scholarship of Rs. 12.7 lakhs to 71 students across India out of that Rs. 2.70 lakhs will be allocated to 14 students in Maharashtra. The scholarship is announced with the objective of providing financial assistance to deserving and meritorious students to help them in their future education. ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company has set up a trust - ICICI Prudential Young Student Education Trust, to administer the scholarship scheme for deserving students. The AMC contributes an amount equivalent to 0.10 per cent of average net assets of the Plans under the scheme - ICICI Prudential Child Care Plan every year. The eligibility for the scholarship programme is that the candidate should have invested in ICICI Prudential Child Care Plan on or before 31st December, 2008 for academic year 2008-09 and continued to be a unit-holder as on the date of announcement of scholarship by the Trustees of ICICI Prudential Young Students Education Trust. Candidates should have also passed HSC (12th Standard) or SSC (10th Standard) or equivalent examinations in the academic year 2008-09 and scored an aggregate of more than 70 per cent in all the subjects.
